About a month ago, I came across a recording of the Calvary Ringers playing “Make Me an Instrument of Thy Peace” by Kevin McChesney and thought it might be a good choice for an Easter piece. Little did I realize the significance of this piece that serendipitously came to me. The dedication of this piece is to the victims of the shooting at Columbine High School and other acts of senseless violence, this original composition’s mood is based upon the 13th century prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. I sure did not know only a month ago just how pertinanent this piece is right now.
I created this video montage to accompany the piece that includes some of the many flowers and animals in our area that are our gifts from God. I hope everyone has a beautiful Good Friday and Easter Sunday and has a chance to enjoy this beautiful, touching handbelll piece. It is longer than we can include in our Sunday Facebook service, so please enjoy it before or after the service.
